End of ITEC610
Overall this class was quite enjoyable, challenging and kept my attention. I personally enjoy learning something about technology, but not so much the writing part. I had to push my self to stay on task with check conferences and making sure that I was on the same page with the team while writing the group paper. Google Docs was a first for me and I am not sure if I will use it again but it will take time for it to grow on me. Information technology is an important subject to study while in the business today and that will not change anytime soon in the future. I am pround to now understand the purpose of the CRM and what the main purpose of it is with support desk.

Nearing the End
This week is nearing the end of the semester and this class is proving to be considerably more interesting that any other classes I have done at UMUC. Examinig different areas for technology and understanding that an information system is not just a technology involved at the begining of the class through me through a loop but 610 has proved to be an intersting, yet challenging course. CRMs and decision support systems was what gave me some troubles with understand some of the details involved but I soon got adjusted to it.

Group Papers
After turning in the group paper my group I think came to a realization that we should have done further research before placing touch technology as one of out topics for the paper. We ran into road blocks involving how new the technology was and that it wasn't be used in that diverse of backgrounds yet. Although we did manage to find some sources that did point out that the technology has been around for decades it is just that we had not found a way to market it in the mainstream for money.
Aside from that the only other difficulties that were faced involved the checking of the paper for plagiarism. When doing the check and comparing it to the video there were some black X's that were on the presentation that I guess they removed the functionality of since the move was created. Overall if was an Okay paper.

Security and ethics
Personally security is a fight that is hard to keep up with. It seems like there is a crack developed everytime there is security designed. I feel that if we can make open source the standard and we would have far less issues with security. You wouldn't have companies trying to make examples of individuals because their software/data leaked before launch. Back before the popularization of the internet it was hard to find illegal copies of operating systems and end user programs. I believe it might have been because there wasn't another option to choose. But sinece then Software continued to cost more and more while providing less and less updated options. Since P2P clients have become far more easier to download whatever an individual is looking for there became a question of ethics. These ethics I feel are no longer ethics in truth, but just the larger companies trying to maintain profit margins. If we are truely trying to improve the ethics of our country we would not support continue to support companies that would rather get rid of employees then let their stock holder not have record profit year.

Week 7 Mini Projet -FedScope
On week 7 I found myself on the fedscope website. The website allowed me to make statistics and have them easily formatted to be placed as graphs for presentations. I bet several entities use this website to pull statistics and do it quickly for presentions that are last minute. I found the interface rather simple but trying to get an exact idea on some of the stats because troublesome. The % of subtotal proved to be one of the options I wish I could fully understand because it was giving me off numbers . The percentages didn't add up to the sub total and sometimes were greater than %100. That confused me and made me steer clear of some search result.

Google Article
While online today I found an article on CNN that I have found quite interesting. Right now there have been talks that google has been taking advangtage of its large share of the web searching industry much like the microsoft/ie lawsuits that went on for most of the 90s. I have found that the government has not been treating every company equally. One thing I wished the writer mentioned in his article is that the G1 cellphone that google makes pushed its ideas the sameway that microsoft had. Google and Mac have both been just as bad but in different ways like microsoft. Mac during the time that Microsoft was getting sued only allowed there OS on their hardware so if you bought one you had to have the other. These issues is showing how much technology is ahead of law.

Playing catchup
Well I have not been keeping up with the blog as much as I should. I found myself pulling teeth to do the twitter miniproject. Maybe it might be because in most cases I will not hop on a new service without finding a point to it. I still feel that there are better alternatives to twitter an more than likely will use those before it. Ashton kutcher's promotions are not going to make me want to look all the time to find out what my friends are doing. The only way twitter would be better is if it was more automated and an took down what people were doing NO MATTER WHAT....and make it like big brother lol...

Class topics keep following me
Wow this class keeps getting more and more interesting. After doing the mini project for week 3 on zillow.com I noticed the website on CNN when a correspondent who worked for zillow was advising people on financial matters involving real estate. I had never gone to or even heard of zillow.com until the mini project .
Also after looking at the week 3 assignments I noticed that most programs that are created today are really databases with either a high level language on the front end or a webpage that pulls most of its content from a database. The software I support at my job use databases to store the data and really has the program that is install on the actual clients computer be an interpreter of the data in the database.

Week 2 blog
Well I am just getting around to writing my blog for week 2. The miniproject was on our interpretation of the the future in 10 years. Today is the first day of the digital Tv switch over. I haven't seen anyone getting extremely upset that their tv is not working but it is still during the work week. I kinda think that the stimulus checkes that everyone recieved last year that so many people went out and bought HD tvs with is lessening the hit. The DTV switchover is the first step towards a new tv. With digital signals I wonder if statistics will be better on usage. Closing off Analong is stimulating the economy with the purchasing of the digital tv boxes even with a voucher that doesn't pay for the sales tax on them. Little by little it will add up. In the end the digital switchover is going to be a big step in household integration and entertainment.

First week of Class thoughts
I find it was interesting thinking about agile companies the week before E3 where several companies that all meet the definition of agile are showing off their new technology and games in press conferences. Observing the business and technology merging in presentations during major company presentations showed off some of the principals in of information technology show in chapters 1 and 2. It appear that most of the companies were focusing on the input phase and improving it with new controllers, motion sensing cameras, and pulse detecting peripherals.

Quick Info On The Writer
Hello everyone,
My name is Bradley Anderson. I was born September 13, 1982 in Dallas Texas the youngest of 3 children. My father got me interested in computers and technology at a very young age. I graduated for Science and Engineering Magnet HS in 2001. I then traveled to Atlanta, Ga to attend Morehouse College for Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and graduating in December 2005.
Right out of college I went to work for McKesson Corp working in there OSG(Out Sourcing Group) department maintaining hospital IT departments in the US and Canada. I ventured further into Health care and IT by working with McKesson Practice Management department where support for Medisoft, Lytec and their EMR's and handled.
I feel that I am a jack of all trades with in the IT arena. I have done database administration, web design, product support, networking, multimedia and information security over the years in and out of the workplace. I am pursuing my Masters in Information Assurance to get a further understanding of IT and its depth
